Higosa Foundation

The vision for HIGOSA Foundation was born in September 2020, during a period in my life when I was overwhelmed with responsibilities. Between preparing for exams, submitting multiple applications, and balancing my daily duties as a medical officer, I still couldn't ignore a deep burden on my heart.

It started when one of our staff at Higss was rushed to the emergency unit and couldn't afford life-saving care. One of my closest friends, who was the medical officer in charge, called my attention to the situation. Together, we gathered funds and paid his medical bills. Just days later, I was heartbroken to learn that the same staff member's wife was also hospitalized, diagnosed with cancer.

Witnessing the emotional and financial strain on the family deeply disturbed me. We mobilized support by spreading the word across alumni platforms, and several graduating sets began to respond with help. But I was still unsettled. As a proud alumna of Higss (Class of 2006), I felt a strong call to action. Despite the little free time I had, I stayed up at night, restless, determined, and hopeful, reaching out to alumni sets from 1996 to 2015. That's how HIGOSA Foundation was born, fueled by compassion, resilience, and the power of community. Since 2021, we've hosted annual Ramadan feeding programs, provided educational supplies, and offered support wherever possible. What began with a single act of help has evolved into a movement of hope.
